SSDI back pay reimbursment to private LTD company

Is it legal for the LTD company who required application for SSDI to demand repayment of the SSDI back pay? company asked for this committment early on as a requirement and it wasn’t untol recently that someone alerted me to the idea that a case in OK ruled that LDT company could not garnish SSD back pay. Ideas?
