Your options in this situation will depend on the information that you have and the laws of your state.  Did someone hit your car and leave a note? Talk to you?  Did a witness see it?  If you know or can figure out who hit you, and they are insured, you should file a claim with their insurance company and may have the option to not disclose your own insurance information.  If your car was LEGALLY parked and they hit you, making their fault clear, their insurance company should cover the damage. If you are uninsured, tracking down those at fault is probably the only way to receive compensation.
