My mother died recently and her house was left to the 4 of us. Because of family discord I would like to disinheriate myself. Can this be done?

Yes. No one can force you take or accept an inheritance if you don't want it. You should write a letter to the executor of the estate stating that you refuse any inheritance, including your share of the house, and the house should pass to the other heirs. Send you letter by registered mail to get a receipt for it, and in your letter ask the executor to provide any additional paperwork or documentation necessary for you to disinherit  yourself.
