I am not sure what your asking.  Are you asking what is the difference b/t a partnership and a limited liability company or are you asking what the difference is what a partner does v. that a manager does on a daily basis.  A manager and a partner, depending on the nature of the business performs the same role and duties as they each have an ownership interest in the business.  depending on how much interest in the business the partner or manager has depends on their authority to make decisions.  whithout more information i cannot really help you answer the question.
