Since your sister does in fact have a court date with respect to the retail theft matter that you are writing about, she in fact has a criminal matter proceeding against her. If she is convicted of this matter, then she will have a criminal record for the duration of her natural life and will appear on a background check as to her. Given the seriousness of the matter, I suggest that she consult with a criminal defense attorney about the matter you have written about.
