My question is what is the "paperwork" that your father showed you saying he was leaving you money when he passed? Was it a Will, a trust, a letter or what?

The significance is that whether or not you saw some paperwork showing that you were to receive something from your father what is presently in existence as to any Will or trust of your father who has passed?

Has his estate been probated? Was there a trust? I suggest that you consult with a Wills and trust attorney about your situation. Good luck.
