If my father passed away and I paid for his cremation, will I be able to get reimbursed for the cremation expense before any other creditors are paid?

He has very few assets in his estate.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Generally speaking, funeral expenses are the first paid out in an estate and a priority so you should be paid first if you paid for the funeral expenses.  I would make sure that you have the bill for same in order so that it can be submitted to the executor for payment.  Good luck.
