Maternity leave for men

I been working with small company for 10
years and now I have a baby on the way
and I ask for maternity leave for one
month but my boss say I could take one
month off but with no pay can he do this
the company is from nyc

New York State and New York City both have paid parental leave acts in place and I am giviong you two links below to help you sort out your rights under the circumstances.  NYC is phasing in the policy with this year being the first year.  Pay is scaled accordingly.  Good luck.
