is it too late to go to the hospital and file a bodily injury claim

i was in the passenger side of a lady friends car and we were rear ended.
Initially i was in shock and felt no immediate pain but about a week later my
lower back started to ache really back and i noticed slight migraines occuring.

It is NOT too late to go to the hospital and file a personal injury claim with the at-fault party's insurance carrier.
It is a common occurrence for auto accident injuries not to be evident immediately after an accident.  Symptoms might not appear for sometime after the accident.
