Is it illegal to create a fake facebook profile and spread personal information about someone?

Well first, creating multiple facebook pages or pretending to be anohther on the site violtes its terms.  More importantly, the US Justice department is reviewing a case that deals with the same issue.  It violates a right to privacy of the person whose identity you are using and could also be seen as identity theft.  It would not be a good idea.
