im disabled and my wife filed for a divorce , i need help

im disabled and my wife filed for a divorce , I don’t know anything about divorce , I need a lawyer but I can only pay a couple of hundred dollars. I don’t know what to do .I need help.

Since money is an issue, you can check if you qualify for Legal Aid or else see if they can recommend someone to help. Also, see if there is a law school nearby to where you live as they typically run free/low cost clinics that handle divorce cases. Further, you can contact the local bar association in your city/county as they may have a list of attorneys who will take your case "pro bono" (for free) or at least for a reduced fee based on your income/circumstances. Finally, contact your state's Department of Social Services, since they may be able to refer you to legal services that you can afford.
