If I have joint legal custody of my son but my ex has physical custody, can she stop me from taking him on a family vacation?

What does your custody and visitation agreement state?  I highly doubt that she could stop you from taking him on vacation under it but the simple fact that you are asking the question makes me wonder what you agreed to in the divorce.  If she is giving you a hard time then I would consider making an application to the court about the matter (and address the issue - if any - in the custody agreement).  Good luck.
