If I have a bench warrant out for a failure to appear, will the DMV see that if I go in to renew my state ID?

The original charge was for driving on suspended license.

Yes, they might see it at DMV.  There could be what is known as a "warrant block" on the renewal of your driver's license.  While it is unlikely that you would be arrested there why live like this?  Go and speak with an attorney about clearing everything up.
