I we agree on property/debt division do we need a lawyer?

We’re in WA State and have about 1.5mil in assets and very little debt. If we can decide between ourselves how to equally divide our net worth do we need to hire attorneys. We’ve been married 20 yrs, no kids

There is an alternative to each of you hiring an attorney. Washington State encourages divorce mediation.  Since you have everything already decided other than the house and pension, you can go see a mediator and have them explain the law in your state with regard to both and have him or her assist in having both valued.  The mediator then draws up the settlement agreement and sometimes the divorce documents.  Call around and see who has a reasonable consultation fee and hourly rate.  Good luck.

Laws may vary from state to state, and sometimes change. Tiny variations in the facts, or a fact not set forth in a question, often can change a legal outcome or an attorney's conclusion. Unlike the information in the Answer(s) above, upon which you should NOT rely, for personal advice you can rely upon we suggest you retain an attorney to represent you.
