If I had to sign a non-compete but was later terminated 3 months ago, since I did not leave voluntarily is the non-compete enforceable?

A non-compete was enforced for 12 months that I cannot work with the clients I was working with at my previous firm. Both firms share many mutual clients.

It depends. Some states do not enforce non-compete agreements at all. Others will not enforce one so long as the employee was not not discharged for cause. Still otheres will enforce  a non-compete no matter what the reason that the emplyee was terminated. At this point, you can constact your state's department of labor, or consult directly with an employment law attorney in your area. They can advise you further.
