If I was let go from my job without ever being told, is that legal?

I was a delivery driver for a truck company. I was involved in an accident after falling asleep at the wheel. I

was not let go the day of accident or even the next day; I found out weeks later when I could not login to

employee account. I never received a phone call or a letter. The date of accident was over 2 months ago. I am still out if work and receiving workers comp.

Unless this action violated the terms of an employment contract or union/collective baragaining agreement, it was legal. As an "at will" worker, your company could terminate your employment for the reason of falling asleep behind the wheel, or for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice. Basically, an employer can set the conditions of work much as it sees fit (absent some form of legally actionable discrimination).
