If I received a ticket for driving without control and go to my court date to contest it can they give me an additional ticket for driving without insurance?

I was in a one vehicle accident; it was my girlfriend’s car. It was snowy and I went off the road and rolled the car. I do not have auto insurance and there was none on the car at the time of the accident. The officer did not ask for proof of insurance at the scene of the accident, and just issued me the driving without control ticket.

If you drive to court without insurance, then you can be ticketed for not having the insurance at that time. As for whether you can be ticketed for not having insurance at the time of the accident: if it comes up during the court hearing, then yes, the court can at that time impose an additional sanction. It may not come up, but if it does, you could have problems.
