Unless you have available PTO (i.e. sick and/or vacation time), you have no right to leave work without your employer's permission. A company can set the conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit absent an employment/union contract to the contrary. Further, the fact is that most work relationships are "at will" which means that an employee can be fired for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice.
