If I think that my wife is cheating on me, how hard is it to get a transcript of her recent text messages?

I’m certain I can find evidence if I could see her text messages. Her phone is on my plan with same provider.

If your wife's cell phone is on your plan then you should be able to request from your provider copies of such text messages that you have concerns about assuming the provider saves them. I would simply call and write the provider what you desire. It is up to the cell phone provider to give you what you desire assuming such messages are saved on its server.
