If I received a citation for possession of an open container on a public street, will this be an infraction or a misdemeanor charge?

I was walking and not operating a motor vehicle. I was given the ticket and told that I have the option of paying for it online.

Possession of an open container can be treated as either a misdemeanor or an infraction in MD. It depends on the jurisdiction in which the incident occurred. To find out more, you can consult directly with a criminal law attorney who specializes in alchohol related offenses. They can best advise you further.
