If Ihave bad checks that I wrote 5 years ago now in collections, can I go to jail for this?

She told me if I didn’t give her over $700 by 4 pm I was looking at serious consequences.

Most likely the statute of limitations to file a criminal action against you by the district attorney's office as well as a civil action for the bad checks that you wrote five (5) years ago have run where any charges or claims would be time barred.

I suspect that the person you spoke with was working for a third party debt collection company attempting to scare you into payment. You need to be aware that any threats of a criminal action by the woman you spoke with could be an unfair debt collection practice under federal law and your state's statutes on the subject.
