I got into a minor accident and found out my insurance was a week lapsed.

I rear ended someone no one was hurt
and the damages were minimal maybe a
scratch. I gave the officer and the
lady i hit my proof in insurance not
realizing I’d for got to pay yhe bill.
Ive had my license suspended before
when i forgot to pay a ticket almost 5
years ago. I wasnt caught driving i
just payed the ticket and got it
reinstated. Ive never been sited for no
insurance before and havent been in
trouble in years. What can i expect?
I’d imagine im not going to jail.

Since your insurance lapsed, you will have to pay for the property damage (cost of repairs) to the other vehicle.  If you don't pay, you will be sued for negligence.
The laws vary from state to state as to the penalty for driving without insurance.  In some states, your driver's license can be suspended by the Department of Motor Vehicles until you  provide proof of insurance.
