If I am from the UK and starting a school here in the US next summer, how to go about getting a work visa rather than changing to a student visa?

I have been offered a job just a already I want to stay in the US and work for a year before I start school. I am don’t have any visa at the moment or a SSN and I just don’t know where to start. I intend to stay in the US after I have finished school.

Unfortunately the work visa, if you already have at least a bachelor's degree, is subject to an annual quota and that annual quota has already been reached for the year starting on October 1, 2013 so the earliest a new work visa petition could be filed on your behalf would be for the following year, starting on October 1, 2014 and that petition can be submitted to USCIS no earlier than April 1, 2014.
