If I am applying for citizenship, however I owe alimony to my ex-wife who lives in Canada, how will this affect my application?

We married and divorced in Canada.

Hello. This should not have any bearing. It may be a judgment call on your good moral character. They may ask for proof of payments or reasons for delays and you will have to prove to them you are making the payments or will catch up.
