How do you renew your out of status after marrying?

After living with the person for 4 years, my visa expired and on our 5th year we got married, would it be possible to renew my visa and get a green card?

You do not need to renew your visa in order to get a green card.  As long as you entered the US lawfully, even if you have since overstayed, and you have proof of that lawful entry, once you get married to a US citzien, you can file for your green card on the basis of the marriage.
