Home Owners Insurance

I just experienced a total loss in a house fire. There was a four wheeler in the
garage. Our agent came to our home to do an inspection and inquired about the
golf cart and harley davidson that were also in the garage but insured by another
company. Never mentioned the four wheeler. Now they are claiming we can not
claim the four wheeler. They said we needed a separate rider for that, but they
never told us that before we signed the policy. Do we have any recourse?

No, you most likely do not have recourse, even if the agent did not specifically mention getting a rider for the 4-wheeler. Insurers do not always--in fact, generally do not--know what you have or own unless *you* tell them and inquire into whether you need additional coverage for it; the legal obligation and responsibility is on you to make sure you have the proper coverage (including riders as necessary) and is not on the insurer to tell you what coverage to get.
