I'm not a Maryland attorney, but my research suggests that you are looking at a felony theft charge, maybe more than one.  Theft by any means, over $500, is punishable by up to 15 years in jail and a fine of $25,000, and the money stolen must be repaid.  In some states, a group of smaller thefts can be added together to get a total that meets the felony standard, but that probably isn't even necessary here.

You need an experienced criminal defense attorney for charges like these.  One place to find qualified counsel is our website, http://attorneypages.com
