Does the contract say that the tuition deposit is non-refundable or just the registration fee?
I enrolled 2 of my children in a preschool a week ago, but now I need to withdraw them. I knew there would be a non-refundable $150 registration fee per child. However, the school also wants to keep a 10% tuition deposit per child. They say that’s what the contract says. This is the sentence in the contact: ” Registration must be accompanied by a non-refundable, non transferable $150 registration fee plus a 10% Tuition Deposit.” (non-refundable, non transferable is in bold) Who is right? Do they get to keep the tuition deposit too?

One would really need to read the entire agreement to be sure. It seems from what you have written here that the terms "non-refundable, non-transferable" refers to the registration fee and not the 10% deposit. But to be sure ai would have an attorney read the agreement in whole. Good luck.
