Do I have to go to court if I got subpoenaed to testify against my boss?

I am a nanny for a mother who is going through a divorce. I got subpoenaed from her ex-husband for the custody hearing for their children, do I have a choice in not going if I feel it can interfere with my job?

If a court issues you a subpoena then you have to appear unless you hire an attorney to quash the subpeona (that is get rid of it in legal terms).  The ability to quash and the reasons that the court will entertain the motion vary from state to state.  You may want to consult with an attorney.  Good luck.
