Do I have to go through probate or is there a way around it so I don’t have to go through probate?

My father passed away 2 weeks ago. I am the only heir. He was divorced. He did not have a Will. He owned a mobile home and a car. He did not own the land his mobile home is on though. It is his cousin’s land. He was a Vietnam vet and was in the VA hospital. His mobile home is ok so it is not worth a lot.

Sorry to hear about your father.

It sounds like your father had a small estate.  Probate is not required when there is a small estate.  The minimum value of an estate beyond which probate is required varies from state to state, but is usually a large amount.
