Do I have a case to get my job back or to recieve any compensation for wrongful termination?

On 12/17 I was dismissed from my state job. My dismissal letter states,

Did you have protection agains termination pursuant to the terms of an employment contract or union agreement? If not, the fact is that as unfair as this all seems (i.e. being only hours late with confiramtion of your having received a flu vaccine), your discharge was legal. Absent some form of legally actionable discrimination, you could have been terminated for any reason or no reason at all, witth or without notice.
