What are my rights if my car was damaged while at a carwash

I brought my car to a carwash where they take it, wash it and detail it. While my car was in their hands, someone hit it and proceeded to drive off. Is the carwash liable for my car?

Why would the carwash be liable if "someone hit it and proceeded to drive off"--was that "someone" a carwash employee? If the person who hit your car doesn't work for the carwash, the carwash is not not liable; they are not responsible for the wrongful acts of persons not under their control. (If you can find out who hit you, you could sue them, of course.)
