Can I get my arrest record expunged?

I was arrested for carrying my prescription Adderall, was not convicted of anything. Charges were dropped. What is the process for getting my arrest record expunged? Why did the court not inform me this was an option? I am being denied rental at an apartment complex. What is the timeframe for it to be expunged?

Each state have different laws concerning having your arrest record expunged. In most cases, you are only eligible to have your arrest record expunged if your case was dismissed or your were found not guilty at trial. You can typically apply to have your arrest record and or fingerprints removed from the court in which your criminal case was heard.
