Can I be sent home with out being told why?

I was told to go home for something I said but I’m not sure what it was. Can they do that?

Yes, your empoyer can do this. That is unless this action violated the terms of an employment contract or union agreement. Also, it must not have constituted any form of legally actionable discrimination. Otherwise, most employmennt is "at will". This means that a company can set the conditions of employment much as it sees fit, including who to send home (or suspend, terminate, etc,) and why. In fact an employee can be disciplined for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice.
