Can I be let go from my job with no warning or write-ups?

I feel like I’m being singled out and harassed. Things have been said to me that have not been said to any other employee. We are all puzzled as to why. Also, I have been late a few times to work, although I’ve called in advance to say that I’m running behind, yet here is another employee who is constantly late. The boss man will make the crew wait on him, up to an hour, or he will drive him out to where we are, yet if I call and say I’m only 10-15 minutes away the boss tells the crews to leave anyway. This is to teach me a lesson so they say and now the boss man is saying if I’m late next week, I’m out of a job. All the other employees see that boss has singled me out and they keep asking me why. I am being degraded for everything I do. I can’t catch a break. However, through all of this, the boss man has not talked with me, nor have I signed anything, so no verbal warnings or write-ups. In a nutshell, would that constitute as wrongful termination?

If your boss is harassing you due to your race, religion, nationality, gender, disability, age (over 40), etc. then you would have a claim based on legally actionable discrimination. Otherwise, your employer can treat you much the way it wants, no matter how unfairly. Further, you can be discharged for any reason or no reason at all. That is uness such treatment in some way violates the terms of an employment contract or union agreement. For your part, you can either accept it, complain but risk termination, or quit.
