If there is a lien for child support payments then your workers compensation settlement check may be garnished to pay it.  I would speak with your attorney if you are now going to refuse the settlement because of same, as I do not think it will matter.  Once the attorney knows of the lien there is an ethical obligation to make sure it is paid out.
