Can an employer makeme work 11 hour days for 10 consecutive days?

There are certain industries--like trucking and airline pilots; also doctors--where the maximum number of hours is mandated by law for safety reasons, but there are only a very few of these; as a general matter, operating heavy equipment doesn't fall under these restrictions, though you may wish to double check for your specific duties.

If there is a contract (including union agreement) setting out hours and shifts, that must be followed.

Otherwise, yes--the employer can make you work 11-hour days for 10 consecutive days. If you are a nonexempt employee (basically, hourly), they have to pay you for all hours worked, including at overtime for hours over 40 in one week. If you are exempt (the vast majority of salaried employees), they don't need to pay you anything extra.
