Can an auto mechanic charge storage fee if u dont pick up your car

Just dropped off car. Fee more than
estimate. Cant pick up car bc short
funds til monday. Can they charge me
storage fir day to mon of 80 per day

They can charge it if--and only if--you were aware, or reasonably should have been aware, of a storage fee, such as if it is stated on the estimate or a work order, on their website, prominently on a sign in their office, etc. If you were aware or reasonably should have been aware of the fee, you are responsible for it; but if there was no opportunity for you to know that leaving the car could subject you to a fee, they can't unilaterally impose the fee after the fact.
