If I caused a car accident and am now being sued but have since switched insurers, is my old insurance company is still responsible for settling this lawsuit?

It happened about 1 1/2 years ago; I am now being sued by the injured party.

The insurer who provided coverage for you *at the time of the accident* is the one which would be responsible in this case (assuming, of course, that your premiums had been fully paid at the time and that your insurance was otherwise in force); they are the ones to contact.
