What to do if a utility company added my ex fiance’s bill to my account at my new place?

My name was never on the bill. I never signed a lease while living there with him. I did pay that bill while living there. Is this legal?

It is illegal for what the utility company did by adding your "ex's" bill to your account at your new place based upon what you have written. I would call and write the utility company's representative demanding that the bill be taken off of your account by a certain date or you will make a complaint against it with your state's Public Utility Commission which regulates utilties in your state.
