Can a wrongful death suit be filed if the person was murdered, and who can exactly be held accountable for the death?
I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. A person that commits murder can be held civilly liable in tort for assault/battery. The estate of the deceased person is the plaintiff and the executor of the estate that is appointed to administer it is the one that coordinates with the lawyer to prosecute the action. I would need to know the facts and circumstances that the person was murdered to determine whether some one else besides the person that caused the death is at fault. I suggest hiring a lawyer to discuss this in more detail.
