Would I be eligible for unemployment if my employer terminates me for refusing to demote or accept a 1 year relocation to a store 500 miles away?
If the basis for the demotion was your fault (i.e., the employer had cause to fire you), it will be up to unemployment to determine if you still qualify for unemployment. You really won't know until you make the application for unemployment and the entity makes a decision. It could be problematic if the employer objects to your application.
