Would a couple be considered legally married if they lived together for 8 years?
Question Details:
Some states such as Texas recognize a "common law marriage" where a man and a woman have lived together for more than five (5) years as though they were married but were not legally married by way of a civil or religious ceremony.
California does not recognize common law marriages.
Just living together for eight (8) years between a male and female as though they were married does not deem their relationship as being "legally married" in any state in this country.
