I am an attorney licensed in Missouri. It might be possible to sue an out of state company here if they have sufficient local contacts, if jurisdiction and venue are proper, and if your claim is timely. I need additional information to fully answer this question. Feel free to email me at sean@roadlawyer.net or call me at 913 441 5025.

Hi.  I am a Missouri injury attorney that handles work injury, personal injury, and employment law issues for residents of all areas of the state.  There are potentially two options here.  First, if the employer has "local contacts", meaning they also do some business in Missouri, they can be subject to the jurisdiction of Missouri courts.  Secondly, if they are exclusively a MA company, you can have a local Missouri attorney handle the claim (which should be FAR more convenient for you), and the attorney could have a MA-licensed attorney assist with certain aspects of the case. as needed (and receive a percentage of any attorney fee generated in return).  The overall fee to you would be exactly the same, and the percentage of the fee that goes to the MA attorney would have to be disclosed and APPROVED by you in writing, as Missouri ethics rule require.  I have worked on employment issues with attorneys from out of state numerous times.  In any event, I would not mind taking a look into this.  A few additional details are needed to provide an assessment of the likelihood of a settlement and the value of the settlement.  My e-mail is mth2000@yahoo.com, # is (314) 471-5585.  Thanks.

Mike
