Will my record be erased when I turn 18?
Question Details: I'm 16. I texted my brother asking for marijuana and his phone was confiscated for unrelated reasons by the police and my text was found. Can I get charged? If so with what and do you think I will? And Will colleges be able to see this?
Soliciting for marijuana is via text message is not illegal in itself. Typically you can be charged criminally for either "possessing" marijuana, or "manufacturing or distributing" the marijuana. A simple text message is not illegal, but could be used as evidence against you at trial if they were to charge you with possession or such, but this is unlikely.
