I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. If you violate your probation you are exposed to the years hanging over your head at the time that you entered into the plea agreement. If the please included suspended years of incarceration, then you are exposed to those years. I suggest that you hire a lawyer as you may not have to serve all the time hanging over your head if a deal can be reached. You will need to explain why you failed to complete community services and your alcohol classes. if you have valid reasons then the state may have some leeway with the probation violation and not require you to do as much time. If you cannot afford a private lawyer, then you should hire a public defender.
