Question: Divorce, Marriage, Alimony - Washington

Will a legal separation allow me to keep my rights to my husbands pension after his death? I know if I divorce I'll lose it.

The answer depends on the type of pension plan.  Some provide for "beneficiaries" and other's say that the fund reverts to the employer.  You can call the benefits office for your husband and ask them.
