How is vacation/sick pay calculated for someone who is paid on commission?

Question Details:

Wife works commission only. She accrues vacation/sick pay. She is paid minimum wage for vacation/sick time rather than average commission pay. Right?

You wife is ahead of the game--I have never heard of a commission-only position offering sick or vacation pay before. There is no legal obligation to do so; normally, commissioned employees do not receive any paid leave, and when they are not working, they are not earning. If her company is offering pay at minimum wage, they are doing so voluntarily and are going well beyond their legal obligations.
