Question Details: Can a wife of a Union president sell insurance to the members of her husbands union and make a profit without being abreast of any Anti-nepotism laws etc. If illegal what are the precedents?
There are no anti-nepotism laws. Behavior can be improper w/o being illegal. As a general legal matter, the wife of a corporate or union officer can sell goods or services to members of that business or union. The wife may be in violation of union rules or policies; also, if she used her husband's influence to pressure people into buying the insurance, she'd be guilty of some species of fraud, but that's simply a function of her acting improperly.
