Why would my used car have a missing digit on the vin plate?
Question Details:
Just found out my carhas a missing digit on VIN plate;the car was sold with a clean car history report (still in my possession) yet now shows up with an accident that happened 16 months prior to my purchase. The dealer that sold the car told me the car had no accidents yet they are the dealer that repaired the collision. They told me I had to purchase 3additional warranties in order for me to get a reduced interest rate. About 9-12 months later a large area of the right rear door started fading and dulling. What should they do?
You may be the victim of fraud and unfair and deceptive acts. You need to do the following: a) look up this loan on your credit reports and file a dispute with the credit reporting agencies (all of them), b) contact the dealership's corporate office with the evidence you have and see if they can fix this error and put you in a new car at their cost, c) report this fraud to the department of motor vehcles title section and registration division and also report the state or local prosecutor's office and d) contact your insurance company and see if it would be willing to litigate on your behalf. Do not drive this car until this is all fixed.
